Growing up I wore my hair plaited, pressed, then natural

As a teen I wore my hair occassionally in a traditional Nigerian plaited style, and sometimes I wore it pressed. My mom pressed my hair for me. She learned how to press hair from her cousin when she was a teen. When I got a little older I tried pressing too, but I could never get results as good as my mom. Then my mom decided to wear her hair natural, and I decided that if she was going to do that then I would too. I switched to a natural style where I wet my hair, brushed it, and gathered it together at the back of neck using a french clip or a scrunchie. I would then twist the ends and tuck them under. I wore this style for many years.
